Questions

Questions About Prices and Terms

What Counts as a Transaction?

A transaction is every line that comes in through your bank, your credit card or QuickBooks, whether it’s a credit, a debit, an ACH, a deposit or a direct deposit. Each line counts as one.

Is the Price the Same Every Month?

Yes. Each package is one flat price a month, never billed by the hour. Annual renewals can rise 3 to 5 percent, with 30 days’ notice.

Which Package Fits Me?

The one whose limits cover both your accounts and your transactions. Your package is set by your average month over the last three, which the Diagnostic Review reads, so one busy month doesn’t move you up and a slow one doesn’t move you down. If you’re between two, ask on the free consultation.

Does Standard Cost Less Without Invoicing?

No. A package is priced by the size of your books, not by which services you use. Standard’s light invoicing is the same work as Starter’s invoicing add-on, and Standard costs the same whether you use it or not.

Are There Setup Fees?

The Diagnostic Review is $99, and it’s credited in full when you sign up for a monthly package. Onboarding and Tech Setup is $250 one time. Through November 30, the New Client Offer makes the Diagnostic Review free and onboarding $200 for the first five new clients.

Is Sales Tax Added?

Only on invoicing and accounts payable. Texas taxes them as data processing, on 80 percent of their charge, so your invoice shows them on a line of their own, with the tax added to that line alone. The bookkeeping itself, your reports, the review call, the Diagnostic Review and onboarding have none, and neither does catch-up that sorts and reconciles past months. So Starter on its own has no sales tax.

How Do I End a Package?

Send a letter signed by the owner saying you’d like to end your package, with 30 days’ notice.

What If My Business Is Bigger Than Plus?

Plans above Plus run $1,500 to $2,500 a month, depending on what your books need. KeyLine looks at your books first, to be sure it’s a fit.

Do You Prepare Tax Returns?

No. KeyLine does bookkeeping, not tax returns or CPA work. Your own tax preparer files your returns.

Every other question is on Questions.
